Polls and Voting

Voting is a decision-making process by a group of people in which a common opinion is formulated by counting the votes of group members. Voting is usually preceded by a discussion. Alternative forms of decision making are consensus building or drawing lots. Voting is also used to determine public opinion and build a rating of the respondents’ attitude to a particular candidate in elections and contests.

E-voting is one of the tools of e-democracy. Ukrainian legislation defines electronic voting as voting on any public issue, in particular participation in polls, elections, referenda, provides for the use of electronic means for identification and vote counting.

The main purpose of electronic voting technologies is the realization by a person of his will, as well as the implementation of the process of counting votes, without the intervention of intermediaries that may affect the result (maliciously, or under the influence of the human factor).
